Fun on the Farm DVD by John Deere

Do you have a toy or game that seriously saves your life? There is nothing more than I hate to do as a parent to have Gavin watching too much television, but this DVD only 35 minutes in length, has been worth it’s weight in gold at our house, and let’s face it, sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do to get something accomplished.

Fun on the Farm is a DVD geared for children ages 2-6 that incorporates all sorts of farm related information. It features tons of John Deere tractors and kids learn about concepts such as where different foods are harvested in the US. If your child or spouse is a John Deere junkie, they are sure to love watching these trucks in action. It is narrated by Doodle Rooster, Harvey the Horse and Bell the cow.  The animation is definitely not that of a Disney movie, and is very basic and simplistic. However, what makes this DVD in our family worth every penny are the original songs by James Coffey, that are played in conjunction with video footage of real farm activities and animals. My son, even at the young age of 1 has been entertained greatly by this DVD. Though it’s geared for kids ages 2 to 6 many one year olds are learning to talk and animals and their sounds are just so easy to spot and say. So Gavin loves pointing to the different animals and naming them or saying their sounds while he watches. Honestly, because of the awesome farm music by James Coffey, it’s definitely not something I mind hearing in the background either!
