LeapFrog LeapPad3 Review

LeapFrog LeapPad3 Learning TabletTis the season for learning tablets! So, for those of you who are looking to score a deal on a tablet for your kids during the holiday season, I’ve been having some fun with the new LeapFrog LeapPad3. We were fortunate to receive one free to utilize, prior to our trip to Beaches Turks and Caicos for the #BeachesMoms Social Media on the Sand conference.  Given that it was Gavin’s first time on an airplane, the LeapPad3 and a pair of headphones were the first items I put in his backpack!

The LeapFrog LeapPad tablets have evolved over time, but to date, the LeapPad3 is not only the fastest, but it has even more features, and still remains compatible with all of the prior apps and cartridges from the last several years. In addition, the LeapPad3 has wifi capabilities that allow parents to download content through an internet connection. Also, if you have multiple children who each have their own tablets, they can also engage in peer-to-peer game play with friends. Kids, depending on their interest levels, can still take still pictures and movies through the front and rear cameras, or play a variety of games with educational activities.

Here’s the amazing part, the price of this tablet has not deviated much from the original price several years ago, which is still $99.99. The LeapPad3 also includes a 2 year kid-proof warranty. The LeapPad3 includes more features than what’s been available in prior generations, at the same price range, AND it can still play any other content you’ve invested in if you have older children.

Aside from touch screen capabilities, the LeapPad3 also has a new stylus. Instead of the thin plastic pencil, the LeapPad3 has a slightly thicker stylus with a soft, rubber tip.  Gavin’s favorite experiences on the LeapPad3 to date include listening to the most recent Kidz Bop songs and watching episodes of Paw Patrol, which came in handy on the airplane since movies weren’t shown on our longest flight from Boston to Miami.
