Top Disney Toys & Games for 2013

Toy disney gifts, top disney toysIn the toddler and and preschool age range, Disney television and movie stars will dominate toy wish lists everywhere for the 2013 holiday season. Popular shows and movies this year have included Disney Junior toys and games featuring characters from Sofia the First, Octonauts, Jake and the Neverland Pirates, and Doc McStuffins. The Disney Movie Planes featuring Dusty Crophopper was also a fan favorite in our house this past summer.

These are some of my top Disney toys and games for 2013 that feature famous Disney Princesses and Disney characters such as Jake, Sofia, Doc McStuffins and Dusty. More information is listed below the pictures. Most of these toys have a suggested retail price of under $40. Sofia the First Dolls, Toys & Games
Sofia the First Game Magical Tea Time – Wonder Forge: This game from Wonder Forge is recommended for preschool kids ages 3 and up. Skills include teaching children about color matching and practicing good table manners.
Sofia the First Magical Talking Sofia – Mattel: This 10 1/2 inch doll recognizes and talks to her 3 friends, Clover, Robin and Mia. Sofia’s magical amulet also glows when characters are near, and Sofia can respond with unique phrases. MSRP is $39.99.
Sofia the First Magical Talking Castle – Mattel: By placing the characters in special locations within the castle, children will hear various phrases. The castle includes furniture, Sofia and Clover figures. Additional dolls and figures are sold separately. MSRP is $59.99.

Jake & The Neverland Pirates Toys & Games
 Jake’s Magical Tiki Hideout – Fisher-Price: For children who love the show, they will be able to re-enact their favorite scenes. By placing the magical tiki onto 3 “X” spots, it will activate the social features within the hideout. The set includes working cannon with projectile “water” balls, magical tiki and Jake figure. MSRP is $39.99.
 Jake and the Neverland Pirates Bucky’s Pirate Ship – LEGO: For older preschool aged players who enjoy construction play, they can assemble Jake’s pirate ship, Bucky. The set retails for $39.99, but smaller play sets are also available.
 Jake Shipwreck Beach Treasure Hunt Game – Wonder Forge: In this active preschool game that promotes physical activity and matching skills, players flip over gold doubloons and use the secret spyglass decoder. Once they make a match they get up and retrieve the proper treasure. Recommended for children ages 3 and up.

Dusty’s Flight School – LEGO: Fans of Dusty can build his flight school hangar and partake in teaching Dusty to fly while overcoming his fear of heights. Characters include Dusty, Sparky and Skipper. MSRP is $39.99
Die-Cast Planes- Mattel: These 1:55 scale die-cast figures are sturdy and are great stocking stuffers.  MSRP is $7.99
Dusty U-Command – Thinkway Toys: For kids who want to control their own Dusty, this remote control plane does not fly, but it includes 26 voice phrases and movements, with over 1,000 actions combined. The toy arrives with batteries and real working eyes and mouth. MSRP is $49.99.
Doc McStuffins Dolls, Toys & Games
Doc McStuffins Clinic Playset – Just Play: This playset includes Hallie, Doc and Lambie figurines, that children can utilize in the 2 story playhouse with “magic bed” and working elevator. MSRP is $49.99.
Doc McStuffins Make Me Better Playset – Just Play: For kids who want to be Doc McStuffins, this is a large scale center where children can give their own toys, or the included Lambie toy check-ups and x-rays. MSRP is $79.99.
Doc McStuffins All Better Game – Wonder Forge: This game is available exclusively at Walmart. Children will take turns trying to figure out which medical tool will solve the “mystery ouchie.” This game promotes matching skills, memory and creative thinking.

Under the Sea Surprise Ariel – Tollytots by Jakks Pacific: Since The Little Mermaid was re-released this year, a whole new generation of girls can enjoy Ariel. This doll has a light-up fin and sings sounds and phrases from the movie. MSRP is $29.99.
Cheerin Minnie – Mattel: This 14. 5 inch Minnie doll speaks 13 phrases and shakes her pom-poms to the song “Hey Mickey!” “AA” batteries are included. MSRP is $44.99.
Ride-on Toddler Quads – Kid Trax: For those kids who are 18 months older and up, there are four-wheel battery operated vehicles with a push button drive system and traction strip tires. There is a 6V battery and wall charger included. These items can be purchased at select Target, Walmart and Toys “R” Us stores. MSRP is $69.99.
Eye Found It – Wonder Forge: Players join Mickey Mouse and friends through 12 familiar places, Radiator Springs, Alice’s Wonderland, Peter Pan’s Neverland and Pooh’s Hundred Acre Wood while searching for iconic Disney objects. Recommended for kids ages 5 and up. MSRP is $19.99.
Octonauts Octopods Playset- Fisher-Price: This playset includes Barnacles, Kwazii, and mini Gup-A characters and it also speaks key phrases from the show. The set also includes removable Octo-Alert, fiddler crab, sea turtle, eel, stretcher, anchor, barrel and net. This toy retails for $34.99.

Aside from various iPad apps, Your child’s favorite Disney characters may appear in cartridge or app form with fun technology toys featuring the LeapFrog LeapPad2, LeapFrog LeapPad Ultra, VTech InnoTab3/3s.
